The benefits from running an oil catch can is that you remove oil residue from your intake manifold and valves, this reduces oil and carbon deposits in the intake and around the valves, increasing the efficiency of your engine reducing the chances of pre-ignition or knock. This can be use in both configurations; Vent it to atmosphere, or recirculate. The catch can captures and contains the contaminated oil and debris and vents the remaining gases and air to atmosphere.
Catch cans can also filter out dirt and other debris from the crank case ventilation system protecting engine components from premature wear or damage.
To recirculate plumb the top port back into the intake in an OEM configuration.
The bottom drain can also be replaced and with the correct thread size you can fit a tap and hose to it so you can easily drain the catch can contents without removal.
